ARTIST STATEMENT
My art-making process begins in prayer—taking time to be in the uninterrupted presence of peace and inspiration. This conscious connection is where I intuitively begin creating. Within this sacred space of art-making, a flow of receptivity transforms into energy, revealed through form or pure, positive color.
Working in this way allows a greater awareness to move through me, giving shape to a tangible vision—an essence of offering, a living prayer. This universal language invites the viewer to experience their own direct conversation, where art and spirit coexist.
There’s a harmonious understanding and sense of wonder that has captivated me since I was a young girl growing up in Colorado. The wild outdoors, the mysteries, and the grandeur of the natural world led me down a path of exploration—and a desire to know this Master Creator called God. What began as an outward quest to learn more about this divine presence became, over time, an inner peace of knowing.
I continue to draw on Nature’s gospels, where the profound orchestration of the seasons inspires change, growth, and restoration. This divine imprint is magnificently encoded in both human beings and nature. I use symbolism and narrative to convey the majestic power that both humbles and invigorates me.
During a pilgrimage through Spain, France, and Portugal, I came to understand the integration of symbols and prayer through the synergy of color and light. This metaphorical expression, present throughout my work, feels like a sustained stained-glass window—radiating from the soul, shining from the inside out.
The illuminating light is an endless blessing—seen and unseen—and this light is ever-present love within each of us, even when we cannot see or fully understand it. God’s magnanimous blessings not only grow around us; the true treasures are within us.
When I paint a garden from the interior passage of the soul in the dead of winter, or bask beneath celestial, star-filled skies—even in nights of total darkness—I find repose in both the trials and triumphs. I trust in the illumination that lives beyond the veil.
When we allow ourselves to dream, our imagination can transform our reality. My wish is to authentically express my gratitude for this life—in kaleidoscopic colors and through the infinite possibilities of its layers—celebrating the depth of each moment, blessed in a harvest of harmonious, cornucopian delight.
From the first spark of an idea to a finished, polished work of art, the artist’s journey is a voyage I love—and I’m honored to share it with you.
